Do you have a particular garden style?

Every garden design or garden installation completed by David Baptiste Garden Design aims to be as individual as you are. David's aim is to create a garden that reflects your lifestyle making it essential to discuss every aspect of how you will use or view your garden.

How much do we get involved in the design process?

It is essential that you get involved in the design of your garden to ensure that the end product is a true reflection of your expectations. David's role is to guide you through the design process and prevent you from making costly and time-consuming mistakes.

Can we do some or all of the work ourselves?

Being involved in the physical establishment of your garden may be very important to you, however it is also important to recognise your own limitations and that for health and safety reasons some construction tasks may require to be undertaken by qualified trades people.

What preparation do we need before your first visit?

Magazine articles and books may be helpful to convey your ideas and concepts but are not essential.

What details are included in a Garden Design Plan?

The plans outline the hard and soft spaces of the garden and are to scale. Included are the paved areas, walls, steps and structures. However, further detail is usually discussed with the contractor or drawn up as a separate item. Plant species and quantities are also included on the plan but can be modified to suit any changes, as the construction evolves.

We don't live in Adelaide - how do we have you design our garden?

David has had commissions for work outside the Adelaide metropolitan area.
It is possible to both consult and design a garden via correspondence, so you will need to supply site and survey scaled plans, photographs or video information together with as much detail as possible of your ideas, needs or other relevant information about your site and garden expectations.

What does a Garden Consultation or Garden Design Plan cost?

The fee for a Garden Consultation is $150 per hour including gst. Each consultation usually takes about an hour to complete and is the first stage in the design of any garden. All Garden Design Plans are quoted for your approval after the initial consultation has been completed.
